Here on the beach I sit
On a tree bone of wood a drift
The warmth of coffee accompanied
Like a hot drink of beans to comfort
Here on the beach I watch
A sunset of sky color
Like a painting playing
On the hiccuping waves of water
Here on the beach I strain
To see a mountain a far
Like an abscess from the earth
And eyes of the houses nearby
That tells of a peace and a calm
To live with the mountains and water
Here on beach I clasp
The thoughts that only come
With the wind and a whisper
A journal in my grasp to catch
Words that command to be writ
In one author’s heart and on the page
Beautiful 💙
